It’s that feeling that someone

You said you’d love me forever
I thought I’d forget you
I can still feel you just as close as skin
In everything that moves![]()
Tonight I wanted to share with you my thoughts on Self Portratit by Dale James. I’ve never been a fan of music that overpowers a voice. Call me silly, but to me, good music is a great voice and good guitar softly coloring the lyrics. Dale accomplishes this as he traverses a spectrum of different genres affording us a glimpse of what a diverse talent he is. The fact that the album spans different styles it something I love. Listening to the same style over and over is like eating the same meal over and over. I love the diversity. From the butter smooth voice telling a story of heartbreak in “It’s Over” to the haunting reggae melody of “No Place In Our Time”, to the crooner style of “That’s The Way I Feel”, he takes you comfortably through the transitions, leaving you wanting more of each style. As you listen to each track, it is clear there’s great care given to both the construction of the songs and the arrangements. Overall a very impressive album. I will be watching for more from Dale. You can download Self Portrait at Reverbnation.
Looking for something a little different to spend that holiday gift certificate on? How about of pair of rockin’ fur headhones? After his 24K gold Crystal Rock and Swarovski studded Rose Crytal headsets, teaming up with designer Oscar De La Renta seemed like a natural progression for Dr. Dre. Together they designed the limited edition Beats. The Beats are designed with plum tinted faux fur. The high definition headphones are created for a surround sound experience with distortion free clarity and sell for a sweet $695 price tag.
Absolutely love this video!
Tony Bennett has captured many hearts in his 85 years, but now he’s helping others do the same. The crooner has partnered with Tiffany & Co. to create a playlist featuring his top ten favorite love songs of all time. Romantics can reference the iconic jeweler’s new iPhone App and website, WhatMakesLoveTrue.com for insight and advice; users can read true love stories, find romantic date locations, and download Bennett’s playlist to set the mood. We can already feel the love! Read more
The beauty of fabric that flows like liquid and floats like the wind can’t be understated. Nor could it be more beautiful and visually captured than in this video which I know near nothing about, bar to say that it was directed by Ian Bonhote and isn’t so much about fashion as it is about fusing music with movement and cinematography.
Definitely worth a weekend watch.
One of my favorite songs to wrap up the weekend.

Usually anything but awkward, Katy Perry now has us all remembering why we hit the ground running after high school and never looked back (you guys did that too, right?). On the cover for her new single, T.G.I.F., she channels the best of the worst retro styles, from her blue eyeliner and fluorescent pink everything to the oversize glasses and denim vest…wait, is this mocking the ’80s? Or is it just a hipster ad for Spring 2011? Just kidding, we’d never confuse those teased bangs and crimped hair for modernity (that is, if we’re excluding most runway hairstyles).

Beyoncé, remember her? The no-longer-single “Single Ladies” singer has a way of weaving her way in and out of the spotlight (which is probably a testament to the longevity of her superstardom). Last night, Mrs. Jay-Z showed off her latest music video for “Run the World (Girls)” on American Idol. While I don’t know how I feel about the song, I can safely say that visually, Beyoncé and the entire music video is stunning. Read more
