Well, only for world’s richest. It’s always fun to look at what is available in the way of Christmas decorations should you ever win the lottery. Leave a comment and let me know which is your favorite. In 2009 this little bauble rang up the register as the most expensive ornament. Though Christmas decorations are traditionally taken down and put away for another year, this one could be displayed year round. Just to give you an idea of what this bauble is made of, consider the $136,000 price tag first. The one-of-a-kind tree decoration is made of 18-carat white gold and is plastered with over one and half thousand stunning diamonds. Surrounded by two incredible rings made of 18-carat fat gold wire, it features 188 red rubies that took a year to complete the designing and manufacturing. It was dreamed up by 38-year-old Mark Hussey, the owner of 30-year-old family business, Hallmark Jewelers.
2010 saw this stunning beauty made of 18ct white gold, and encrusted with 1,578 diamonds, by Embee Jewels of London in association with Hallmark Jewellers. The bauble is surrounded by two rings featuring 188 red rubies and three Roman one-carat diamonds. The ornament was sold for charity. The bauble also features a snowflake cut out pattern and comes in a custom handmade wooden box, complete with a stand. At least 15% of the money raised was donated to the National Autistic Society (NAS), the UK’s leading autism charity.
Now if you need a little more than a simple ornament, there are a number of exquisite trees. priced at $1.8 million, this diamond-covered Christmas tree adorned with 400 diamonds was seen at the Takashimaya department store chain in China last year. The tree was actually a small tower of preserved roses with a teddy bear. It stood 40 centimeters high and was festooned with around 100 carats of diamonds from southern Africa and Australia.
Priced at $850,000, this Christmas tree was made in pure 24 carat, 21 kilogram gold. The golden tree emitted golden light to create a magical aura around it.
Now this one is interesting…. Made by a jeweler, could we expect less than amazing? Priced at $1,005,000, this Christmas tree created by Soo Kee Jewellery was decked out with 21,798 diamonds totaling 913 carats, 3,762 crystal beads and 456 lights. Weighing in at over 7,000 pounds, the tree was nearly 20 foot tall.
Last and on the low end of the price range… Priced at $500,000, this Christmas tree was created out of five pounds of solid 18K gold, with a 4.52 carat stone set in a platinum star that adorns its top. The glitzy tree flaunts diamond-briolette ornaments and a layer of 200 carats of diamonds, which form a shiny covering of snow.
